We are involved in the National Schools Moot Court Competition, which is aimed at creating greater awareness of the Constitution and the values it embodies in South African schools and communities. Talented young people are encouraged to consider pursuing careers in law by participating in the competition. It is open to all Grade 11 learners in South Africa from both private and public schools. This competition also teaches learners research skills, oral advocacy, writing skills, as well as about the South African Constitution and human rights, as these issues provide the topics for debate.
Our contribution is through mentoring learners from disadvantaged communities; ensuring they are well prepared to compete at a high level; and providing financial assistance to cover the costs of travel and accommodation for teams who have reached the finals.
