Who’s Who Legal has once again chosen Webber Wentzel as the South Africa Law Firm of the Year at its annual awards.
It is the fourth time, and the second consecutive year, that Webber Wentzel has won this award.
Who’s Who Legal is the official research partner of the International Bar Association and strategic research partner of the ABA Section of International Law.
Webber Wentzel senior partner David Lancaster said he was delighted with the accolade.
“It’s very pleasing. It’s testament to our expertise across all sectors of the South African economy. And it’s an endorsement of our long-term strategic plan to meet client needs by putting them at the centre of everything we do.”
Partners from the firm received sufficient nominations from their clients and peers to be listed 29 times across 15 practice areas in the publication. Lawyers from Webber Wentzel were listed more times than those from any other firm in the country.
Editor in chief Callum Campbell said, “The strong performance of so many lawyers from Webber Wentzel underlines the depth of expertise the firm can offer across a range of areas, and we are delighted to recognise the firm once again as the leader in South Africa.”
Who’s Who Legal lists only the leading lawyers in each field, based on the findings of an independent six-month research process that encompasses feedback from private practitioners, clients and other experts in the sector. It is impossible to buy entry into the publication; only lawyers who score most highly according to Who's Who Legal's independent international research criteria are listed.
The awards are based on a number of factors, including general feedback received in the research process, past performance in the research and the overall aggregate number of weighted votes cast in their favour.
