Webber Wentzel biggest winner at the African Legal Awards

Webber Wentzel has been named African Law Firm of the Year (Mid-Large Sized Practice) at the 2022 African Legal Awards on Friday, 2 September 2022.

"This recognition is a great honour as it affirms our firm as the leading full-service law firm on the African continent. It also upholds our legal expertise and innovation, strategic vision, employee development and commitment to our clients,"

said Senior Partner, Christo Els, Webber Wentzel.

The judges specifically highlighted the firm partners' gender diversity stats, the graduate recruitment programme and the wide range of the firm's CSR activities. For the second consecutive year the firm also won ESG Initiative of the Year - validating the firm's purpose to have a transformative and sustainable impact through work and actions. This award is for the advice the firm provides TERRAGRN on its sustainability-linked project to grow biodiversity-compliant forests in various African countries (a project that will engage almost 300 women entrepreneurs and create thousands of jobs in local regions).
