In a rapidly evolving legal and regulatory environment, staying ahead of developments that impact the South African insurance market has never been more critical. Legal precedents continue to shape how principles are interpreted and applied, with recent judgments offering both clarification and, at times, challenges to what has long been considered settled law.
This is the context in which the Case Nexus was developed.
This project brings together 10 key legal principles impacting the South African insurance market and pairs them with a curated selection of 25 significant cases – both foundational and recent. These case-combos highlight areas of convergence, where new rulings affirm established law, and divergence, where recent interpretations may signal shifts in direction.
