Occupational Health and Safety Act - Draft Major Hazard Installation Regulations out for public comment

The Minister of Employment and Labour has invited public comments on the current draft of the proposed amendments to the Major Hazard Installation Regulations, published under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (draft regulations). The proposed regulations include potential material changes to the 2001 Major Hazard Installation Regulations which, in their current form, in some circumstances also apply to defined medium and low hazard establishments.

Employers are encouraged to consider the current draft and assess whether any comments should be submitted, in the prescribed form. Persons and employer wishing to submit comments have been provided with 90 days from the date of the notice (i.e. 15 November 2019). The closing date for submissions is 13 February 2020.
